THE HIPPOCRACTIC OATH
...READING...
MASON & ISAAC
MASON
Hep pop.
ISAAC
Hello son. We’ll be right in Ruth. I need you husband for a moment.
RUTH
Ok.
MASON
What’s up pop.
ISAAC
That’s what I’ve come to find out? Did you go talk to Dr. Rome?
MASON
Yes I did.
ISAAC
And?
MASON
And he hasn’t made a decision yet.
ISAAC
How hard can this decision be?
MASON
Look pop, I wouldn’t get my hopes up.
ISAAC
My hopes aren’t in man son. They are in God all mighty.
MASON
If he had just stayed home.
ISAAC
What’s that?
MASON
He would follow you any where.
ISAAC
Oh, so you blame for this?
MASON
Never mind pop.
ISAAC
Oh yes, we’re going to mind this. Yes, I urged you to allow him to be there, but as his father you told him “no”. He didn’t disobey you for me. He didn’t stop that boy from burning the church that you Pastor for me. That hosts the congregation that you lead. He didn’t put himself in harms way for me son. It was the love he has for his daddy that lead him. He was moved to show you his love in action son. It hurts and it sucks. But don’t create new wounds thinking that they will take away the pain of the current ones, because the won’t. I’ll see you later son.
